Details: Necessary Nannies and Caregivers is an Idaho-grown Treasure Valley-based business established in 2005 by Karla and Verlyn Brower. Our vision was to establish a personal nanny and caregiver referral and placement service for the families of the Treasure Valley and beyond. Ten years later, this purpose remains! While technology has impacted most businesses and the way that most individuals reach out to businesses and friends, at Necessary Nannies and Caregivers we still believe that the most sincere and meaningful relationships begin in person. We still endeavor to meet each family and each nanny or caregiver candidate face-to-face prior to assisting them. Karla and Verlyn have been Idaho residents for twenty years. As the parents of three adult children and grandparents to two, they understand first-hand the joys and challenges of parenthood and can sincerely identify with the needs of active, caring families in our community. Karla has been assisting families with their caregiver and childcare needs for fourteen years. Prior to establishing Necessary Nannies, she directed a Boise-based caregiver agency where she hired, trained, and supervised a staff of caregivers serving the needs of senior and child clients in our community. Together, Verlyn and Karla have traveled extensively to South America, Europe, and Asia. With their young family, they lived for a time in Venezuela and Albania (Eastern Europe) working with a non-profit humanitarian organization. Some of their memories include traveling in a dugout canoe down a jungle river in South Venezuela, providing help to Albanian families after the end of communism in Eastern Europe, and teaching English in a village school near the Thai/Burmese Border. Verlyn and Karla are active members of the Meridian community. Verlyn works with the Meridian Fire Department as a firefighter and chaplain. A highlight of Verlyn's year was cooking for "Hunt of a Lifetime" in the Idaho outback. Karla enjoys art, gardening, yoga, and volunteering for Meridian Fire Department and the VineArts Studio. Together they enjoy spending time with their family and grandchildren and exploring the Idaho outdoors. |
