Hello! I am a student at Cornell University studying neuropsychology. I'll be in Ithaca for the first half of summer before returning to my hometown of Venice Beach, CA to resume my job as assistant art teacher at a small elementary school, where I taught last summer. I absolutely love working with kids and always come up with fun games, outdoor activities, and art projects!
I worked for 6 months in Nepal as a teacher at a public school in a rural area as well as at a home/school for young abandoned girls.
I also worked in Guatemala for 1 month building a home with a family who didn't have one and played a lot of soccer with the neighborhood kids!
I've taught at a variety of summer camps over the past five years such as:
- Math camp (2 summers), ceramics camp (2 summers), visual art camp (1 summer)
I've babysat children ages 9 months - 10 years and was a nanny to a 5 year old boy last summer.
I've tutored fellow students for the past 7 years in English, contemporary literature analysis, humanities, human rights studies, history, Spanish, math, and science.
I've also specifically tutored elementary and middle-age students with learning disabilities such as ADD, ADHD, and dyslexia to acheive their academic goals (completing assignments, being excited about projects, preparing for tests) and personal goals (resolving conflicts, making friends, being one's best self).
