Biography:
I developed a love for nurturing and educating young children at the age of twelve, and now I have acquired over 30 years of professional childcare experience. I was the designated babysitter for the neighborhood, as well as my nieces and nephews. I learned quickly, that children need structure, academic activities, enrichment, freedom to be creative, virtues to mold their precious characters, and an abundance of joy and laughter. Children are so unique, and are born with special gifts and strengths, to shower the world with rays of hope.
My career in childcare continued as a governess for families that needed my expertise and administrative support, as a preschool teacher and tutor. Childcare has enabled me to make a positive difference for children in Houston, Texas, Los Angeles and Glendale, California, Las Vegas, Nevada, and now Atlanta, Georgia. I find the greatest reward in working with children, because children are phenomenal, brilliant, unique, exceptional, creative, talented, diligent, extraordinary, compassionate, honest, respectful, and excellent.
My role as a childcare professional is to nurture, mentor and befriend each child, to build trust and mold virtuous character in a warm and inviting environment. My goal is to empower the minds of children through exploration, investigation, and discovery of self, books, poetry, music, art, and the beauty of nature. It is important that the needs of the whole child are met through academics, enrichment, creativity, and virtues. I am first aid and CPR certified, a member of NAFCC, and a registered sub for Childcare Facilities.
I find it best to set clear expectations and guidelines immediately, this helps the child to develop and grow into their true potential. Although it is my job to teach and inspire children to see their true potential, I have often been the student learning invaluable lessons through the eyes of the child.
