I am 19 years old and a Sophomore in college (almost a Junior). During the school year, I attend Cedarville University in Ohio, majoring in Political Science. But I am home for the summer (until the end of August) and would love to be working with kids as either a babysitter or a nanny.
First of all, I love being with kids and enjoy working with them. It brings such a joy to my heart. Because of this, I've been working with kids since I was very young, about 11 years old. I was a mother's helper for 4 little girls (all under the age of 3) when I was 11 and became a Red Cross certified Babysitter. Since the age of 12, I have been babysitting up to 5 children at a time. At this time, I also began to volunteer in my church's nursery/ toddler room and helping with their summer Vacation Bible School's. I have also been teaching piano lessons to elementary children, which I thoroughly enjoy! Last fall, I worked at the Five Seasons nursery and Kid's club center taking care of children ages 0-12. Most of all, my approach to working with kids is always to get down on their level and play with them, gaining their trust and admiration. To me, that is the most important thing when working with children. Of course, there are times when you need to be the firm with them, but understanding children and getting down on their level is important.
