Biography:

Dear Family,
My name is Nicole Syristatides and I currently live in NJ. I have 9 years experience with children with special needs and 4 years experience with children with cancer and other life threatening illnesses. I am CPR and First Aid Certified. I also have my drivers license. I am moving in with a family in Chapel Hill to become their full-time live-in nanny in October. The children go to school during the day Monday-Friday so I was looking for a part-time position during the day while the children were in school. Please let me know if you would be interested. Thanks for your time!

Experience:

I have been working with children with special needs for the past 9 years. I started volunteering at an organization in my town for children with disabilities and fell in love with it! I was a 1:1 mentor for the special needs children about 4 days a week 3 hours each day for about 7 years, including summers. I then found families who loved and appreciated me helping their child, so they asked me to work with their child in their home. So after a while I got many interested families that I got so busy working with their child in their home. I volunteered as an ABA Therapist's Assistant 3 days a week for 4 hours each day with a boy with Autism. I also have been volunteering at a day camp for children with cancer for the past 2 summers that I love so much! This past summer I worked at a special needs sleep away camp that was a very interesting experience, I learned so much! Currently I'm a Direct Support Professional for triplets boys all with Cerebral Palsy, you have no idea how much I love seeing those boys 3 times a week! They are my world! I do many other programs with special needs children that I love so much, including a special needs program at the JCC that I have been volunteering with for the past 3 years! I recently have stopped this past school year because my schedule is too busy now with school and work!
